Activities in Fiss
Fiss, in the immediate vicinity to the border triangle Austria, Switzerland and Italy, is located on a high plateau towards the south, the so-called "sunny plateau", approx. 500 meters above the Upper Inn Valley.
In contrast to many other places, our village has retained its original, cozy character to this day. The winding streets and farms from the time of the Romanesque settlement in the 16th and 17th centuries make a significant contribution to this.
After the end of the second World War, tourism began. Today, Fiss with its modern infrastructure and around 2.000 hours of sunshine, is an insider tip - not only among winter sports enthusiasts. Tyrol's provincial government has given Fiss the title "Family Tyrol Village". The quality and variety of hotels and restaurants is geard towards the needs of families. In winter as in summer, we have a variety of offers for the whole family.
Winter attracts with guaranteed snow, well into spring with 204 kilometers of slopes and 70 modern lifts. Wonderful cross-country ski and winter hiking trails ensure there also will be no place for boredom away from the slopes.
In summer, the Super Summer Card (free travel on all lifts from the first night) ensures you can get to the mountain free of charge and effortlessly. Fantastic hiking trails and numerous attractions awaits you here (Summer Fun Park on the Möseralm, Fisser Flitzer, etc.) A large adventure playground makes childrens eyes light up and there are numerous restaurants for young and old.
Model glider pilots also get their money's worth in summer. With the Schönjochbahn you travel to 2.440 m and after a short walk of approx. 10 minutes you reach Europe's highest model airfield.
